Orleans Park and Fort Meigs

Orleans Park and Fort Miegs are on the south side in Perrysburg. Orleans Park offers ample parking, a boat launch, and plenty of space. It's one of the few spots to fish during extreme high water conditions. Fort Meigs has some slower / deeper water that produces many large females. Also has lots of parking at the top and bottom of the park.

Buttonwood and Side Cut Metropark and the Tow Path

Side Cut Metropark is on the north side of the river in Maumee while Buttonwood is on the south side in Perrysburg. Both sites offer excellent fishing opportunities, but be prepared to fish shoulder to shoulder with other fisherman in most holes. Side Cut Metropark can be dangerous during high water conditions. Crossing the channel during rising water conditions can leave one stranded on the island. Buttonwood has campsites. The Tow Path is along the north side and runs from the feeder all the way to the bridge (see red line)

Jerome Road

Jerome Road is a popular access point. It has a nice run with seemingly fewer people. Limited roadside parking.

Farnsworth Metropark

Farnsworth Metropark offers plenty of parking and a less crowded environment. Many excellent runs occupy both sides of the river. Be careful of deep hole and ledges.

Mary Jane Thurstan State Park

Mary Jane Thurstan State Park (otherwise known as the dam on the 65 side), has a ton of parking and offers a unique blend of deep pockets below fast runs (depending on the water level). Be very careful if you are not familiar with this part of the river. It is advisable to carry a wading staff.
